20 pretzel sticks, dipper size
8 oz white coating wafers
2 oz red coating wafers
¼ cup black sanding sugar
¼ cup white sanding sugar
Directions
Melt the white coating wafers according to package directions.
Dip each pretzel stick into the melted white coating about 3/4 of the way up, leaving one end of the pretzel exposed.
Shake off any excess chocolate then place on parchment paper and allow the coating to completely set.
Melt the red coating wafers according to package directions.
Combine equal parts black and white sanding sugar in a small bowl.
Dip the tip of each pretzel stick into the melted red coating, then immediately dip it into the black and white sanding sugar to create the look of burning ash.
Place on parchment paper and allow to set completely.
For a more realistic look, break some of the pretzel sticks into different lengths and repeat the same process. The variation in size makes them look even more convincing when piled together.
Serve them in a clean ashtray for an extra-realistic presentation!
