Bloodsucking Berries πŸ©ΈπŸ“

$0.00

Ingredients

  • 8 large strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried

  • Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Flavored Melting Wafers

  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup

  • 1 tbsp corn syrup

  • 2 drops deep red gel food coloring

  • Slivered almonds

Directions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Insert two toothpicks into the top of each strawberry to make dipping easier.

  2. Melt the chocolate coating wafers according to the package directions. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate until completely coated, then place on parchment paper and allow the chocolate to fully set.

  3. To create the mouth, cut a slit vertically into the front of each strawberry, stopping about halfway through. Make a second cut into the strawberry at roughly a 90Β° angle to remove a small wedge and create an open mouth.

  4. Make the edible blood by combining the chocolate syrup, corn syrup, and deep red gel food coloring. Transfer to a piping bag and snip a very small opening from the tip.

  5. Insert two slivered almonds into the top of the mouth to create the fangs.

  6. Pipe the edible blood inside the mouth and around the fangs, allowing a little to drip out for an extra bloody effect.

  7. Let set slightly, then serve and watch these berries bite back. πŸ©ΈπŸ“
